It is tax time again, and you may have noticed we have made some big changes.
Sterling Tax Group is now part of William Rogers Company, known as Sterling Tax Advisors. We specialize in servicing the tax needs of Individuals and Trusts. Business Entities work with ASCEND Business Advisory, a business division of William Rogers Company.
WAYS TO GET YOUR TAX DOCUMENTS TO US
Over the next couple of months, you will receive 2021 important tax documents required for filing your tax return. Most arrive by mail, email or by electronic download from your financial institutions.
UPLOAD YOUR TAX DOCUMENTS
SmartVault Client Portal
Our client portal, SmartVault, this is the best way to get your documents to us electronically. To be connected with SmartVault, please call us at 888-297-3321 or email Admin@WRCompany.biz, and we will send you the link to get started. SmartVault gives you a secure and efficient way to send your sensitive tax documents to us. You can also use your SmartVault portal login to obtain copies of your tax records whenever you need them.
Verifyle Client Portal
You may already have access to our client portal, Verifyle, this is another way to get your documents to us electronically. We will continue to accept items through Verifyle, however, we will work to move you onto SmartVault for greater access to your records in the future.
Intuit Link
For a guided, form by form, upload experience we may send you an invite to Intuit Link. We will send you an email to get started if we think it would work for you.
DOCUMENT DROP OFF OR MAIL
You may alternatively mail or drop off your tax documents if that is your preference. For your safety, be sure to make a copy of anything you put in the mail, and put tracking on your package.

Once we have received your documents, we will be in contact with you with any questions or missing items that we need in order to complete your tax return.
Tax Appointments
If you need a tax appointment those will be available by video, phone, or in person at one of our 3 convenient locations: San Diego, Los Angeles, or Carlsbad. Due to the demanding time constraints of tax season, we ask that you submit your tax documents as soon as possible, before any appointments, and that any appointments be focused on preparation of the current taxes.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Filing Deadline
The deadline to file and pay your individual 2021 taxes is 4/18/2022.
Extensions
To ensure a timely tax return filing on your behalf, we will take the initiative to file an extension if we have been engaged by you but have not received tax items by 4/1/2022 or your return is in progress but not completed by 4/10/2022.
As mentioned above, you will have access to an electronic copy of your tax return via your SmartVault portal. If you additionally want a paper copy, please let us know.
